our mission and Vision

The Midpoint will be a mid-sized, independent live music venue located in the heart of Connecticut, dedicated to bringing the best live music to those who love it. Located halfway between New York City and Boston, the Greater Hartford area is an ideal place for touring musicians to stop and play a show.

Our mission is to make live music accessible and affordable for all music lovers, while supporting and empowering our local community and other small businesses. We strive to be a  venue that offers fair compensation to our musicians, takes care of our staff, and sells tickets at an affordable price. The Midpoint will be known for its neighborhood charm, quality drinks, down-to-earth atmosphere, and its support of the surrounding community and other local businesses.

Our vision is to become a “must-play” venue in Connecticut, known for bringing live music to those who share the same passion for music that frees the soul. We aspire to become a destination of choice for established musicians, up-and-coming artists, and live music enthusiasts.

We love music as much as you do, and hope that you will consider supporting us as we begin our journey to bring you the best live music experience possible.

our Story

The seed of the idea for The Midpoint was planted a long time ago in my mind - surrounded in a sea of people at a small show at my favorite neighborhood venue, Schubas, on a brisk fall night in the city of Chicago. I discovered my love for live music shortly after moving to the city and quickly became enamored with the energy, passion, and soul-strengthening power of small, intimate shows, played in neighborhood venues by the best up-and-coming bands week after week. I couldn’t get enough of it. But when I moved back home to Connecticut, I soon realized that the concept of the “neighborhood venue” was non-existent in the Greater Hartford area. I found myself searching for shows in New Haven, New York City, and Boston, just to see my favorite smaller bands play shows for rooms of 300 people. But having to make such long trips for concerts grew old pretty quickly, and large venue shows just didn’t feel the same. My desire to hear and see my favorite bands playing intimate shows grew stronger and stronger as the flashing lights and ringing ears from the live shows in Chicago became more of a distant memory.

After the world changed post-COVID, there is a yearning for connection with one another and to share the live music experience once again. The vision for The Midpoint is simple - to become that neighborhood venue, known for its carefully curated show calendar, the most-drinkable craft beverages, a down-to-earth atmosphere, and above all - fair ticket prices.

Join me in this journey to bring the best live music into the heart of Connecticut, for all of us to enjoy. I can’t wait to see you in the crowd. Thanks, love, and music -
